"Annual Carol Concert at Riverfront Newport" |
9th December 2010 |
A triumph! Once again the choir excelled itself with a wonderful concert. The programme included old favourites and some beautiful new songs. The guest artist this year was harpist Jane Fenwick, who accompanied the choir in some items as well as playing the Interlude from Britten's Ceremony of Carols. The programme of carols was punctuated by some witty Christmas oriented poems read most sensitively for us by Jo Barton. |
The concert was compered with plenty of Christmas humour by Mark James, appearing in the Riverfront's production of Aladdin. And it almost goes without saying, that the choir was directed by Christopher Barton, ably supported by pianist Jeremy Blasby. |
